Write a Church Text From a Few Words, Fit It in One Credit, and Answer Replies Faster

Two things slow down almost everyone who sends texts for a church. The first is the blank box: you know the potluck is Sunday, but turning that into a message people will actually read takes longer than it should. The second is the counter. You finish a good message, add an emoji, and watch it jump from one credit to two.

A few additions to MojoTxt take care of both. They are included on every plan, trial included, and nothing goes out until a person reads it and presses Send.

Write it for me

Above the message box, on the right of the Text label, click Help me write and choose Write it for me. Type a few words about what you want to say and click Write:

  • You type: potluck after the 10am service this Sunday, bring a dish, kids welcome
  • You get: Grace Community Church: Join us for a potluck lunch after the 10am service this Sunday. Bring a dish to share, and kids are welcome. Reply STOP to opt out

The draft opens with your organization’s name as it appears on your carrier registration and ends with an opt-out line, because the mobile carriers look for both and filter numbers whose messages leave them out. Two checkboxes let you leave either one off. It is written to fit in one credit, and it borrows the tone of the messages you have sent before, so it sounds like you.

Tell it about your church once, under About your organization on the number’s Settings page: service times, address, website, how you sign off. Drafts use those details instead of leaving blanks.

Shorten to 1 credit

When a message grows past one text, the same menu offers Shorten to 1 credit. It rewrites the message to fit, keeping every date, time, place, link and name tag. If an emoji is what pushed it over (an emoji drops the one-credit limit from 160 characters to 70), the emoji goes and the words stay. An Undo button puts your own version back.

Rephrase, and proofread and fix

The same menu has two more helpers. Rephrase asks how the message should change, such as “warmer” or “mention childcare”, and rewrites it that way. Proofread and fix corrects spelling, grammar and punctuation and changes nothing else. None of the rewrites add your organization’s name or an opt-out line on their own; they keep them only when your message already had them.

Suggested replies in Conversations

Someone texts your number: “What time is the Sunday service, and is there parking nearby?” Open the conversation and click Suggest replies. Three short replies appear, usually a direct answer, a brief acknowledgement, and one that asks a question back. Tap one, change anything you like, and press Send.

The suggestions use the conversation so far and your About note, so the answer has your real service times in it. Nothing is suggested until you ask, and nothing is ever sent on its own. We built it this way on purpose: most pastors we read told researchers they do not want software answering their congregation for them, and we agree.

How it works, briefly

The drafts and suggestions are generated by an AI model from what you type, your About note, and (for replies) the conversation you are looking at. That text is sent to the model to write the reply and is not used to train it. You see every word before it goes anywhere.

Getting started

If you already use MojoTxt, open any message box and look for the sparkle Help me write menu above it; in Conversations the Suggest replies button sits next to the attach button. The details are in the in-app guide (sign in first). If you are new, start a free 30-day trial with 250 message credits. Before your first send, the mobile carriers require a one-time registration of your number, which we walk you through inside your account.
